Upon successful completion of this course, the student will understand the role of entrepreneurial businesses in the United States and their impact on our national and global economy. The student will evaluate the skills and commitment necessary to successfully operate an entrepreneurial venture. Additionally, the student will review the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship as a career choice as well as entrance strategies to accomplish such a choice.
Capitalizing a Small Business
In this class, students will learn about the various sources of financing that are available for funding a small business, how to prepare and analyze financial statements,a nd write a loan proposal. Students will also learn to identify financing needs, establish credit policies, and determine borrowing needs for a small business.
Marketing the Entrepreneurial Venture
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will gain insights essential for marketing their business using innovative and financially responsible marketing strategies. The student will also prepare a marketing plan to launch their business and carry them through the first two years of operation.
Small Business Analysis
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to identify the problems that frequently occur in small business and utilize problem-solving skills to formulate solutions. In addition, the student should be able to apply the knowledge of business concepts and techniques to the analysis of cases and actual business situations.
